ABB’s LV marine generators are designed specifically for marine applications to be used in diesel generating set or as shaft generator on board ships or offshore platforms.
2 Low voltage generators for diesel and gas engines
Main standard
IEC 60034
Classification
Generators fulfill ABS, BV, CCS, CR, DNV, GL, KR, LRS, NK, RINA, RS classification society requirements.
Certificate
ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001
Electrical features
Power range: 500 - 5000 kVA
Rated power factor: 0.8
Frequency and speed: 50/60Hz and 600–1800 rpm
Rated supply voltages
Typical 400 V at 50 Hz and 450 V or 690 V at 60 Hz. Other voltages are also available.
Insulation class and temperature rise class
Insulation H, temperature rise F or H
Winding and impregnation
Stator - 5/6 winding pitch Rotor - Glass fibre wound field winding. Vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI) for both stator and rotor
Excitation
Highly reliable brushless excitation. Excitation power supplied by the auxiliary winding, voltage build up secured by the Permanent Magnet Insertion (PMI construction) in the exciter stator.
