Lesson objectives

• I will be able to explain how the Ministry of Information used propaganda in World War II

• I should be able to explain the process of making a judgement

• I could be able to make a judgement on a question

Did propaganda work?• Read the ‘Did it

work?’ section on pages 16-17. Make a table with 3 columns. “Effective; Not effective and Helped by other factors”. List the propaganda campaigns in the correct columns.

be able to make a judgement (supported

by evidence, otherwise it’s just a guess)

Making a judgement• To make a judgement you need to be able extract

information from evidence. Practise this skill by completing activity 2 on page 18. Use ALL the sources to help you answer the question

• Swap work with the person next to you and assess their work. Concentrate on critiquing how well they use evidence from the sources to support their writing. Write two comments-

• One thing they have done well• One way they could improve their work
