TCP: primary impact

ATCs’ increased ability to effectively and efficiently disseminate improved agricultural practices and technologies to targeted clientele groups in developing countries in the Asia, Pacific and African regions.

The baseline survey of ATC capacity, led by Dr. Tang from November 2011 through March 2012, led to: An assessment of the strengths and

weaknesses in the current capacity of ATC with regards to international training; and

The setting of priorities to guide the subsequent interventions of this TCP project.

Distributed to all ATCs in spring 2012

Gave a foundation for planning the interventions of this TCP.

Introduce elements of leadership and management necessary for effective training institutions: Strategic direction (Module 1) Key systems (Module 2) Core practices of effective trainers (Module 3)

Focus on two core practices: Assess needs (Module 4) Evaluate training (Module 5)

Build the foundation for future events in this TCP project.

Guiding objective

To strengthen the capacity of participating institutions…

…with a focus in this workshop on training needs assessment and training quality evaluation.

Longer-term objective

To promote the fulfillment of the long-term goal to establish the international agricultural training center under South-South Cooperation supported by FAO and the Ministry of Agriculture of China.
