(I) WORKDONE AND FINDINGS
1. Carried out Vessel Deck Cranes inspection in the Jakarta Port on 11 & 12 April.2015.
2. As per visual inspection, both cranes structure and appearance are good in condition.
3. Crane.1 requires doing housekeeping and wiping out oil leakages in the cranes column’s floor.
4. Crane.1 both Hoisting and Luffing Band brakes’ pads are very oily and greasy, need to remove clean with
de-greaser, if not possible to clean need to be replaced all oily brake pads.( will cause Cargo slipping)
5. Crane.1 reported over-heated problem, found Room Thermostat not correct setting cause Ventilation blower to not
running, once power “ON”, adjusted and tested. O.K.
6. Also corrected hydraulic oil max temp setting to 85’ was 95’ set, that caused some pumps’ to damage seals and “O”
rings.
7. Crane.2 most of the external greasing points are completely dry, long time never perform the external greasing.
8. Both Cranes Hoisting and Luffing wire slack rope protection assay Rollers were badly worn out need to be replaced
ASAP.
9. Crane.2 during hoisting operation (even w/o load) noticed Feed Pressure drop significantly, due to hoisting
hydraulic motor starting internally worn out.
10. Both cranes base column protection timber plates are missing, possible impact hitting to base column with cargo or
hatch covers, it may cause effect to slewing bearing (if not fix the timber plates on the base column).
(II) RECOMMENDATIONS
Crane.1
11. Leaking Hoisting Pump. I(1111) hose’s SAE flange “O” ring to be replaced. 12. Leaking Slewing pump control solenoid end plate “O”/seals to be replaced. 13. Defective (worn out) hoisting and luffing (Slack Rope protection assay) Teflon rollers to be replaced. 14. Need to be greasing crane column top all greasing points(to the Rope sheaves’ bearings) 15. If not able to clean the brake pads (for both hoist and Luff winch), to be replaced. Crane.2
16. Defective (worn out) hoisting and luffing (Slack Rope protection assay) Teflon rollers to be replaced. 17. Hoisting Motor to be replaced. 18. Pressure accumulator need to be charged(with nitrogen gas)

19. To be replaced all filter elements.
20. To be renewed slewing gear oil.
