Bei Anteflexion des Kopfes (Kopf nach unten) entsteht eine supraglottischeEngstellung mit verengtem Luftwegeingang. Gleichzeitig wird die Schluckreflexauslösung erleichtert, der Transport im Pharynx erfolgt schneller und die Öffnung des oberen Ösophagussphinkters wird vereinfacht. Wenn in dieser Position geschluckt wird („chin tuck manoeuvre“) wird das Aspirationsrisiko reduziert.

SLS-freie Zahnpaste reduziert signifikant die Inzidenz und Zahl der Ulzerationen, deren Dauer und den assoziierten Schmerz bei Patienten mit rekurrenter aphtoider Stomatitis.
