Meetings & Events: Obstacle or Opportunity? Insights and Ideas from etouches Management Alternatives Inc. Boston Trends Forum November 18, 2010 Presentation by Jim Alkon and Leonora Valvo of etouches. Attended by about 25 Boston area travel managers for major corporations – some of whom also get involved in managing meetings for their companies and some of whom might be getting involved. The purpose was to present to them the two ways of viewing meetings from the corporate perspective – either as a line item (expense), usually overseen by Procurement Depts. And not very concerned about objectives, just costs, or as a marketing tool to drive business (these are the people who generally understand etouches, see events as a generator of interest for your product, and use events effectively as a marketing tool.)
