1The X, a unit of measurement of area of a land, commonly used in Nepal, Bangladesh and in a few states of India like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Gujarat etc. The precise size of a X appears to vary considerably. Sources have given measurements that range from 1,500 to 6,771 square meters, but in several smaller pockets, it is as high as 12,400 square meters. It is popular today because of a very significant entertainment connect.

4• The X Film Festival is a semi-annual film and multimedia event held by

the Austin Film Society in Austin, Texas. Most recently, the Alamo Drafthouse theater in downtown Austin, Texas has been the selected venue. The event usually takes place for a few days, and X screens a selection of his favorite films using prints he owns. Usually he programs films to a theme such as 80's horror night or Italian crime films of the 70's. All films come from his private collection of prints and generally have played a part in the creation of his own films. He uses the film fest not only as a platform to show off his impressive collection of rare film reels but also to point out forgotten genres, directors, actors or studios. So far there have been 6 festivals, plus a "best of" featuring films shown in previous festivals. A very important aspect of the X Film Festivals in general is, that X introduces all the films himself, shows trailers for all kinds of films and takes the time to discuss the films with the fans lucky enough to gain badges for the nights. His policy is that he doesn't talk about himself or his movies during the festival, which makes it hard for journalists or fans to gain information about projects he is currently working on.

• XY is a genre of punk music dealing with Islam and its culture, originally conceived in Michael Muhammad Knight's 2003 novel of the same name. The name is a portmanteau of hardcore and an Arabic word which is usually translated as "piety" or the quality of being "God-fearing", and thus roughly denotes fear and love of the divine. The scene is composed mainly of young Muslim artists living in the US and other western countries, many of whom openly reject traditionalist interpretations of Islam. Although Muslim punk music dates at least to the 1979 founding of British band Alien Kulture and in the 90's, Nation Records act Fundamental and Asian Dub Foundation, this is the first example of US Muslim generated punk. Knight's novel was instrumental in encouraging the growth of a contemporary North American Muslim punk movement.

*11• The diner featured in the scene is now a McDonalds at the corner of 3rd

Street and Townsend in San Francisco, California. The original structure still stands. The 3rd Street Bridge can be seen in the background of the scene outside the diner. Former president of the United States, Ronald Reagan famously used the phrase in his campaign against raising taxes. In March 1985, his address to the American Business Conference is quoted, "I have my veto pen drawn and ready for any tax increase that Congress might even think of sending up. And I have only one thing to say to the tax increasers: _____Y________" The movie X became popular in Kenya in the early 1990s. Kenyan kids pronounced Y as "Makmende" probably due to influence of the local dialects. Over time, Makmende was used by kids to refer to a kid who behaved like a know-it-all. In 2010, Makmende was turned into an Internet sensation all over Kenya's Internet community when Just a Band created a superhero character in the music video of their song "Ha He." Id Y.
