Great Expectations

Great ExpectationsTrue or False?

1. It is best to have no expectations about ementoring, that way you can’t get let down.

2. Your mentor is not there to help you with your homework.

3. You should write a message to your mentor AT LEAST twice a day.

4. By the time you finish ementoring your mentor should know everything about you, even very personal information and vice versa.

5. Your mentor is likely to be quite old and won’t really understand you.

6. Your mentor is a great source of information and can give you lots of advice and support.

What’s In It For Me?

Ementoring will…• Give you someone to talk to about your future• Help improve writing and IT skills• Help build your confidence• Help you to think about your next steps – education or

work – and how to get there!• Allow you more time to think about questions than you

would have with face-to-face mentoring

Your ementoring coordinator

• Matches you with your mentor• Looks after your scheme• First point of contact if you:

– have problems or concerns about your mentor– want to talk about your place on the programme.
