Objective

UNDERSTANDING THE LIFESTYLE AND THE ASPIRATIONS OF YOUNG PEOPLE,

THEIR NEEDS

by the perception of young people themselves !

hope that it will be discovered by a future generation!

Meaning

How ? What for ?

• group of youths who open up about their lives, problems and needs

• learn their opinions and their own interpretations of the problems we are focusing on

• Made clear their expectations

How ? What for ?

• observatory of the realities of the youths living in the districts of Valencia

• opportunity to compare it with other partners of My Generation Cities

1st part : preview

• 3 groups from different Valencian districts, aged from14 to 19• Questionnaire about their problems, priorities&needs

to themselves first…

then surveyed youngs in the street s of Valencia

As results, main problems were identified:

access to housing&employment

• Yet, they had to think about an object, a phrase and a song which they identified with to put into the time capsule

2nd part: Sharing time

• Exchange of ideas & getting to common views• Problems are the same for all young people: employment, housing,

education and drugs

• Main issue: individualism, lack of group awareness

• Yet, preparation for brief performances recapturing all of the concepts covered in the activity, to be acted out on the final party of the project

3rd part: final time !

• Filling the time capsule with the chosen objects • acting out a performance regarding the previous activities’ themes• reading of a manifesto…appealing for the social participation of young

people, asking them to abandon individualism and recognizing that their voices are stronger made as a group one

The end !

• Yet, party&buffet for all!
