Footer logo
The new page footer logo is in the "branding/images" folder and maintained in the Branding.css
This will automatically display on new implementations but for existing implementations it is
recommended that you ensure your:
1. Branding.css contains the following:
2. Branding/images folder contains a file called "Page-Footer-Logo.png".
This release’s Branding/Images folder contains the new default image.
Additional changes
JIRA Reference Number: ESS- 297
The following changes will apply to all implementations
• Favourite Icon is the latest MYOB coloured "M"
Note: You can use your own favicon by replacing the images in the favicon folder and the favicon.ico files. To apply your own custom Favicon, please use an online icon generator such as RealFaviconGenerator – http://realfavicongenerator.net/ and ensure your image has a minimum size of 180 x 180 pixels.
• The “spinner” is now a neutral colour.
• The ability to customise the colours of the Tab pages and the Side menu has also been
reinstated. This is maintained via the Branding.css.
Effect on new implementations:
▪ Login page displays the latest mono "MYOB" logo
▪ Page title/header bar displays the latest full colour "MYOB" logo and a MYOB themed colour
bar at head of page. The coloured bar can be enabled/disabled in the Branding.css
▪ Configurable page footer logo. The new logo displays the product name "MYOB PayGlobal".
in black. You can use your own page footer logo by replacing the image "Page-Footer-
Logo.png" in the branding/images folder.
▪ Default colour for the tab text on hover is MYOB's "Rouge"
▪ Default colour for the selected tab is "Black"
5 | MYOB PayGlobal ESS Release Notes - v5.1.0.0 simplify success
Effect on existing implementations
▪ If you have custom images that utilise the old image file names your existing Branding.css
will remain unchanged. It is recommended you add the new Footer logo section.
▪ If you have no custom branding, it is recommended that you copy the entire Branding folder
(i.e. including the images) over top of your existing setup.
Important: The image names contained in the Branding.css MUST match a file in the Branding/Images folder. It is also recommended to retain the aspect ratio to maintain image quality.
Team Calendar Layout Order
In previous versions, the Layout options list from the Manager’s Team Calendar was ordered
specifically on layout name. This meant that the “12 month” calendar was often the first in the
list and this resulted in the loading of the calendar being slow for some managers.
The Layout options list from the Manager’s Team Calendar is now ordered by the number of
months displayed. Therefore, if your lowest number of months was 3 months then this will now
be the first item in the list.
Note: Users with a default layout setup will not see any change.

Issues Resolved
This chapter describes issues resolved in this release version.
Issues Resolved - All Countries
This section describes generic issues resolved in this release version.
"Run selected" button not visible for notification flow rules on the Self-Service Administration Site
Details
The "Run selected" button at the foot of the Workflow > Notification Flow Rules was not visible
in the Self-Service Administration Site.
Resolution:
This button can now be both seen and selected.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-314
Declined partial day leave requests still show after 100 days
Details
In Manager View, when viewing leave requests for employees and the facility to view declined
leave requests had been turned on for a site, only declined leave requests less than 100 days
old were expected to be seen. However, all partial leave requests, irrespective of age, were
displayed.
Resolution:
Both full day and partial day leave requests less than 100 days old are now displayed.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-299
Documents with an apostrophe couldn’t be viewed/downloaded in ESS
Details
Files uploaded to ESS with an apostrophe in the filename were unable to be viewed or
downloaded. For example, uploading documents to Competency records, Add Hazard and
Enter Incident forms exhibited this problem.
Resolution:
Documents with an apostrophe in the filename can now be viewed and / or downloaded.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-294

Editing an approved leave request incorrectly audited
Details
If an edited leave request was approved, the AuditLog table was updated with extra spurious
entries. This led to increased delays in the response time on approval.
Resolution:
Only changes regarding the edited leave request are recorded in the AuditLog table.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-334
Employee Admin roles unable to view requests they initiated
Details
If an employee query is associated with an admin role and the employee who uses this role is
not included in the employee query, then users of the role were not able to view workflow
requests that they initiated.
Resolution:
An admin role user is now able to view workflow items that they initiated under the above
circumstances.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-325
Employees paid bi-monthly could not have their leave approved
Details
If an employee was on a bi-monthly pay period and submitted a leave request, the employee’s
manager was presented with an error when trying to approve the leave request. This occurred
because until this release ESS had not been designed to handle bi-monthly pay periods.
Resolution:
ESS now allows employees on bi-monthly pay periods to have leave requests approved.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-333
Error when generating Performance Reviews for more than 2000 employees
Details
When searching for more than 2000 employees for whom to generating performance reviews,
the system displayed an error "Error creating datasource:Employees-GridData".
Resolution:
When now carrying out the employee search, the above error no longer occurs.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-310

Generating a performance review as a PDF is slow
Details
When accessing a performance review and then viewing this as a PDF, ESS took a significant
length of time to generate. ESS sometimes also timed out, especially if there were a large
number of performance reviews in the system.
Resolution:
Performance reviews generated as PDFs are now significantly quicker to generate.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-316
Leading and Trailing Spaces being saved to the database from Self-Service lookup controls Details
When selecting an item from a lookup field by typing the value you wanted; you could
subsequently add leading or trailing spaces, which would be saved to the database upon
submit.
For example, changing an employee’s employment status when using the Employee Transfer
module from “Fulltime” to Part-time”. Instead of using the mouse to complete the selection
typing “Part-time” you type “Part-time..”
This space padded value would then affect processes downstream, for example crashing
Process Pay.
Resolution:
Any leading or trailing spaces subsequently added to a lookup control value are now stripped
out when you move away from the look-up field. This ensures that the value saved to the
database will not have these extra spaces.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-305
Leave Calendar placement reverted
Details
Prior to version 5.0.0.0 the leave calendar appeared on the right. In version 5.0.0.0 the leave
calendar appeared on the left. This was done to ensure the calendar displayed at the top of the
form if using a tablet or reducing the window size on a PC monitor. For those who primarily use
a full-size window on PC monitor it made applying for leave less intuitive.
Resolution:
Responding to feedback, the leave calendar now appears on the right of a full-sized window of
a PC monitor or at the bottom of the form if viewing on a tablet or reducing window of a PC
monitor.

Leave Request Search grid department column comes up blank Details
When acting as an Admin role and carrying out a leave request search, the department
description of the employee's work area was not displayed in the search results.
Resolution:
The department description is now displayed, enabling the user to view the department and sort
the results by this field.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-322
Menu item configured to open a new tab/window does not work
Details
When the administrator configured a menu item to open in a new tab/window it did not in fact do
so.
Resolution:
Any menu item that has been configured to open in a new tab/window now opens in a new
tab/window.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-324
Notes for My Allowances not always fully imported
Details
In the Notes field of My Allowances, you can spread the text over multiple lines using the enter
key. When you exported the Allowances to PayGlobal the resulting file keep the text spread
over multiple lines. As these extra lines contained no employee reference, they were not
imported into PayGlobal. This meant your payroll person could not see/action any instructions
that the note may have contained.
Resolution:
My Allowance notes with the multiple lines of text are now being converted to a single line so
that they will be contained into the Text field upon importing into PayGlobal.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-302
Quick Search lookup only displays 20 records
Details
When trying to do a quick search by typing characters into a lookup field, ESS would only return
a maximum of 20 items even if there were more matches available.
Resolution:
The maximum number of candidate items in the list has now been increased to 100.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-315

Scrolling on a lookup field doesn't work correctly in Internet Explorer
Details
When using the Internet Explorer as the web browser for ESS, the scrolling behaviour of lookup
controls was erratic.
For instance, if the Quick Search lookup control was accessed within the Organisation Chart
area to search for an employee to display the chart for, scrolling through the list of employees
presented in the lookup list would act as if an employee had been selected for viewing.
This behaviour caused errors if only a partial employee code had been entered in the text
portion of the lookup control, as the employee code did not exist in the database.
Resolution:
Scrolling in Self Service lookup controls now works as expected when using Internet Explorer
as a web browser.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-318
Unable to view Performance Review as PDF
Details
In ESS versions 5 and later, you could not view employee performance reviews as PDFs when
clicking the “View as PDF button”.
Resolution:
The "View as PDF" button, now allows you to view employee performance reviews as PDFs.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-301
User-defined field of data type Integer has limited values in Self-Service
Details
When a user-defined field is setup to be an Integer and used in Self-Service for data entry
purposes, the allowed range of values was limited to a length of one less than what the field
was defined as in PayGlobal e.g. a field defined with a length of 3 would only allow values in the
range -9 to 99.
In addition, the error messages for invalid Integers involved a description concerning decimal
points, which are inappropriate for this data type.
Resolution:
The Integer data type now allows and validates the correct length of numbers to be entered a
field within ESS. Any validation error messages for Integers are now more appropriate to this
data type.
JIRA Reference Number: ESS-307
Issues Resolved – Country Specific
There are no country specific issue fixes in this release.
