There  was  a  hypothesis  by  a  participant  that the  area  is  also  related  to  dots  shown  by arrows  –  dots  that  are  “untouched”  by  the polygon when  the  smallest  possible  rectangle is  drawn  around  the  polygon.  Can  you  figure this one out?
