Juni 1999

“Basic agreements for an European Network association” International teachers meeting at Europaschule Köln Representatives of different European schools, who for the most part have already participated at the symposion in J une, meet in Cologne to discuss the posibilities of further cooperation. The participants agree with the idea of a “Network of Europe Oriented Schools”, but make also clear that it’s necessary to come to know each other far better.

November 1999

“Coming to know each other” International teachers meeting at Gustav-Heinemann-Gesamtschule, Essen In several working groups joint projects are pepared and discussed in details. Other working groups are planning an international students workshops for February 2001 as well as the founding of the European association “NEOS – Network of Europe Oriented Schools”.

May 2000

“Understanding in Europe” International Student workshop at Gustav-Heinemann-Gesamtschule, Mülheim They either work in the music-workshop: “European Rap” or in the art-workshop “European Still Life”. Together they evolve statements concerning the topic “Prejudices and stereotypes in Europe”.

February 2001

“Planning next projects” International teachers meeting in Warshaw The participants decide to implement the topics “Work exchange programm” and “Comparision of “Lebenswelten” in different European countries” into every NEOS school with priority.

September 2001

“European Constitution” International student workshop in Orvieto They are working on the articles for the “Right to Work” and the “Right to Education”. The results of the working groups are put together and presented to an international audience including the mayor of Orvieto. Parallel to the students the teachers are working on modules for history lessons.

April 2002

“Reflection and planning” International teachers meeting in Cologne The main concern of this meeting is to proceed with the topics worked out in Orvieto and to plan further meetings. There are also other complex topics presented by the representatives of Orvieto, Warschau and Halikko, i.e. “Culture meets culture”, “Aware citizenship” and “Being young in….”. These topics shall be implemented into the NEOS member schools as decentral projects .

1. An international students workshop in Warshaw dealing with the topic”Culture meets culture” for J anuary 2004

2. An international teachers meeting in Halikko dealing with the topic “New technologies” for November 2004

May 2003

“Preparation of the next student workshop” International teachers meeting in Ibi About 20 teachers meet in Ibi to prepare the next student workshop which will take place in auttum 2005 in Otzenhausen. Besides the intensive common work there is a daylong excursion by bus, to get an impression of this region of Spain.

“Preparing the next student workshop” International teachers meeting in Treviso About 20 NEOS teachers meet in Treviso to prepare the next student workshop which is planned in November. The participants not only are working together but also enjoy cultural events e.g. a visit to Venice.

at the Berufskolleg in Bocholt During this workshop the students dealt with and discussed different aspects of the teaching of "European" skills:
