New Israeli Guinness Record of lowest, bellow sea level,

formation flight. has been broken 23rd

of November 2013

6 Light Sport Aircrafts with 12 IDAF ex fighter pilots flow formation flight at -422 m below sea level at

the lowest possible place on the glob – the Dead Sea.. the record breaking flight toke place 19th of January

over the Dead Sea for over one minute as required by former registered record flow at -300 m.

The record text: “The lowest altitude aircraft formation flight is 422 m (1384 ft 6.14

in ) below sea level achieved by the Israeli Association of Light Sport Aviation ( ILSA )

along the shore of the Dead Sea, Israel, on 23 November 2013”

The formation toke off from the world lowest airstrip at Messada LLMZ (-1233 ft ) and landed at the

same place after the record braking for celebrating the successful mission. The formation of the record

breaking mission initiated and led by Ltn.Col.(Ret,) Dan Sion, fighter pilot, wing commander in the

Israeli Air force, LSA pilot and M.O.B at the Israeli LSA Association.

The record was monitored and approved by Mr. Omri Talmon, Israeli NAC (National Aero Club)

Chairman, qualified and commissioned by Guinness World Records for the mission.
