The Fire & Ice Festival is set to take place January 24th - 26th, in Bethany Beach, Ocean View, and Millville; presented by Bethany Beach Ocean Suites & Holiday Inn Express. The 2020 event will feature an “Out of this World” theme; complete with themed sculptures, activities, and more.
The weekend will kick-off on Friday, with the opening of our three signature ice sculptures. Carl M. Freeman Signature Piece at Bear Trap in Ocean View, Town of Bethany Beach Signature Piece on the bandstand, Town of Millville Signature Piece at Lord’s Landscaping. These pieces will be open throughout the Festival weekend from 10 am – 8 pm.
At 4:00 pm on Friday, the evening sculpture tour will begin in downtown Bethany Beach. The sculptures will be unveiled from their protective coverings, and festival goers can stroll around town to see the sculptures illuminated along the streetscape. The sculptures will be on display again on Saturday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm and all day Sunday.
Saturday will feature the main event, the Live Sculpture Demonstration. The live demo, sponsored by Beth-any Beach Ocean Suites & Holiday Inn Express, will take place from 5 pm – 7 pm, be sure to stop by in its beginning and final stages to see the complete transformation.
The festival will come to a close on Sunday with the a ceremonial sculpture Smash Party. Watch as the sculptors “clean up” the ice, by smashing the sculptures to pieces. Complete details for the festival can be found at fireandicede.com.
