Each nation is identified by a distinguished culture.As a citizen of Vietnam Social Republic, it’s certain that you can understand and speak Vietnamese, love your S-shaped homeland, be proud of a long glorious history of our nation or the elegant “long dress” which symbolizes the Vietnamese beauty.

…However, advances in life, culture exchange, globalization has “given birth” to “global citizen”.

So what do you think about this difference? I am a Vietnamese. I love Vietnam but it does

not mean that it is the only nation that I love and ensure its rights.

Who is Global Citizen??• Global citizens are not only more active, more

well-rounded, more integrated but more importantly they are more responsible for a more globalized and interdependent world.

• In a global community, action of each individual bring about benefits (or harms) to not only himself but also to his country and our planet.

• We have rights and obligations to our own nation. Likewise, a global citizen has rights and obligations to the globe.

• As a global citizen we have the rights to be respected, educated, protected, to raise our voice, etc.

obligations. • Personally, I think one of the main duties of a

Vietnamese when becoming a global citizen is to know how to value and introduce Vietnam’s beauties to international friends so as to let them understand more about Vietnam and welcome us.

homeland? For me, I will choose to talk first about our natural heritages and culture which the world has recognized.

• How proud I am to mention interests and heritages such as: Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha-Ke Bang Cave, Hue, Space of Gong Culture in the Central Highlands…

citizens to our beautiful planet is joining hands to build a better world.

• There are many different concerns like road safety, economy, social evils..

• I am a “small global citizen” and the thing that I am most concerned about is environmental matter – a very urgent problem in this modern society.

Sometimes I asked myself

“Why are there more and more animals

and species listed in the Red list?”

“Why are rivers so polluted?”…

And I found the answer: it is because the environment is being destroyed so badly.

People has been chopping down trees, deforesting….

Factories contaminate the air, water by its waste. People in their daily life also dispose of so much

waste which pollutes the land, water, oceans…

It is a high time for us to protect the environment and make a better

world.

What can we do ?

• What we should do is avoid deforesting, killing wild animals.

• We ought to plant trees and forests, the lung of the earth. We can use water economically, recycle paper, cans, bottles and many different things…

• We should make other people more aware of the problem or call them for going green.

• Students can make changes from small actions at school like keeping classrooms clean and tidy.

• Be more alerted and act for a better home for global citizens.
