of all the lessons i’ve learned, wise words i’ve requoted and mantras i’ve recited, ralph

Waldo emerson’s words, “nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm,” continue to

prove true to my story. from being diagnosed with Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at the age of

4 and being told i would be lucky to walk, to fracturing my ankle right before my second half

marathon and last undergraduate semester, i have never wavered in my convictions. With

hard work, a bold stance and a smile on my face, all goals are attainable.

bRIDG-ING THE GAp.

Working on a group project fostered collaboration and encouraged creative ideas, it also

presented challenges. What started as five person group dwindled to a team of two brave

and determined souls. in order to expand Walgreens’ customer base, our streamlined group

created enticing and dynamic brand offerings for the modern consumer. our goal was to

reinforce the loyalty of existing customers, and expand the target market to include millenials

to ensure a bright and successful future for Walgreens.

DOMO ARIGA-TO yOU RObOTO.

every day scientists make breakthroughs on advanced generations of robots. the idea is that

humans and robots will live and prosper together. i thought this development paralleled the

features of the typeface Unisans from fontfabric. Unisans combines industrial simplicity with

avant-garde details, such as the f luid joining of stems and curves and an italic that combines

geometry and calligraphy. Using experimental typographic studies, i illustrate the merger of

humans and robots and display the full functionality and unique features of the typeface.

there’s no denying both social media and international travel plays a big role in the lives of

my generation. However, financing such excursions takes far more preparation and funding

than most can afford. Couch Surfing inc. has factored in all of this and a created solution.

after doing immense research, i felt a revolutionary re-brand was appropriate. the final de-

sign is fun, inviting and has a distinct social feel. it ties together the adventure and recreation

that CouchSurfers will undoubtedly attain on their journeys.

DANCE TO AN-OTHER TUNE.

Consumers don’t have to be part of the emerging post-punk subculture of queer, urban girls

to relish the smooth ride of a radical 415 malt beverage. Based on michelle tea’s grungy

and provocative memoir “Valencia,” the radical 415 label breaks all the rules of traditional

design. this product is edgy, yet still functional and powerful, similar to the target audience.

this brand reaches out to the peculiar fin-de-siècle blend of jaded idealists and thoughtful

egotists, just like tea’s characters.

i chose a tiger to represent the paper tyger paper line by neenah paper to showcase the im-

portance of a single creature and a single idea. paper tyger is durable and resistant to water,

tearing and grease, preserving bold ideas. in this project you will see the book start out with

an array of bold,lively colors and imagery, representing the tiger and its habitat. as the tiger

goes extinct, so do these striking elements. the elements start to become erratic and sparse

with the absence of the apex predator, until there is nothing.

ing line of quality products has revolutionized the art of f lavoring. a brand with so much equity

deserves packaging that will stand out in any setting. the task at hand was to design a tiered

packaging system for mass-market and boutique environments. the design works seamlessly

across lawry’s spices to create a strong shelf set that will catch the attention of the target au-

Before an identity can be simple yet sophisticated much time goes into understanding what a

logo is, what it represents and what it is supposed to do. a logo is not just a mark – it reflects

a business’s entity through the use of shape, color, fonts and images. a successful logo can be

used for many years and recognized even after its been pulled from circulation.
