Hello Again!

It’s been a quiet time for me since the rally at Madison. I stayed several days at a Corps of Engineers park in Illinois, right on the Mississippi River near Moline, the headquarters of John Deere. I took a tour of the Harvest-er Plant, watching how the combines are built. I also visited the Wild Bill Hickok Museum just across the river in LeClaire, Iowa. This is where Bill was born and lived for several years before going westward. Then, I headed eastward, visiting historical sites in Indiana, Ohio and eventually to Pennsylvania. Hershey was one of the stops. I attended a convention in Philadelphia and a girlfriend from California stayed in the RV while I was gone and then we both did lots of sightseeing not only in Philadelphia but the surrounding area around Lancaster before we parted and I traveled to Stephen, Minnesota to work the sugar beet harvest, a new adventure for me!!

As I write this, the Rocky Mountain Ramble is taking place and I hope there are other S.I. members joining Joanne Harnit at Farmington, New Mexico and having a good time. Next up is the South Central Rally in Conroe, TX and I hope we have representation at that rally, too. Following that rally is the last area rally for 2015, the Eastern Area Rally at Asheville, NC. I spoke with John Hubbard a few days ago who told me nine S.I. members had signed up for the pre-rally. I hope there will be more decid-ing to attend not only the pre-rally but the area rally. It’s a very beautiful area.

Be sure to look at our calendar of events in this issue of the Scuttlebutt to see what rallies are being planned for the holiday times and make plans to attend. I know you will have great time. I expect to be back in Florida in time for the New Year’s gathering at Daytona Beach and look forward to seeing a bunch of S.I. members.

As the next issue will be December, I am wishing all of you a very nice and enjoyable Thanksgiving! See you down the road and please be safe as you travel.

Rally Reports

Rocky mountain Area Rally

Today, October 1, I have just listened to the Maestro brass guys playing Taps after returning from the evening entertainment at the Farmington NM rally, Sept. 29-Oct. 4. SI members Carol Priemesberger, Bob Svitek, and I are attending, but thanks to the registration and parking crews all single attendees were parked in the same area. So, along with friends, the PMs helped us to host Card Bingo on the 29th and have joined us in happy hours, meals and activities. Weather has been beautiful. We depart on Oct 4th and the 3 of us will go to Albuquerque for the Balloon Festival and on Oct 11th will begin travel west to Acoma Pueblo, Malpais and Zuni and other points west. Carol and Bob will then go to Death Valley Days and I to Yuma until we rejoin at the Western Area Rally in Indio CA after New Years and then go to join the various singles groups at Quartzsite AZ.

Upcoming Events

Eastern Area Pre-Rally

Arrangements have been made with Stonebridge Campground in Maggie Valley for the Pre

-Rally for GEAR. Dates are October 11-12 and then caravan on the 13th

to Asheville for the

Eastern Area Rally. The Eastern Area Rally is October 14-18. You must call Stonebridge

to make your own reservation. Their phone number is 828 926-1904. Their address is

1786 Soco Road, Hwy. 19, Maggie Valley, NC 58751. Rates are $27.00 for 30 amp and

$32.00 for 50 amp. When you make your reservation, be sure to mention Singles Interna-

tional for a 10% discount.

Please contact John Hubbard, 214-683-9323, if you are planning to attend. There are lots of things to see and do in the area.

Western Area Pre-rally The Western area SIs will once again be having a pre rally at the Spotlight 29 Casino. The

dates are January 2nd to the 5th. We will caravan into the rally on Tuesday January 5.

Please be sure to sign up for the early day when registering for the Western Area Rally if

you wish to caravan with us. Bob Svitak has graciously agreed to lead the caravan.

Thanksgiving Thanksgiving will be celebrated by Singles International at the American Legion in Titusville, FL

from November 22-30. Parking will be $5/day with bathroom unlocked 24/7 for your convenience. Room

available for cards. Lunch available daily. $30 rally fee with include Thanksgiving dinner, pizza, DJ for

Tuesday: Casino Boat trip—You MUST call Bill and give him your address and birthdate for the boat trip

Cost: $21.00 lunch included, after you spend $20 you will get 20 back.

Holly Jolly Christmas Rally will be held from December 23-27 at St. John’s RV Park in St. Augustine with

cost is $20/day with a New Year’s Eve party provided by the park. Beach Party is planned. Rally fee will be
