Objects follow an action verb. The “equation” for action verb sentences looks like:

direct object- a noun or pronoun that receives the action of a verb or shows the result of the action.

It answers “what?” or “whom?” after an action verb

ex) I kicked the ball.

indirect object- a noun or pronoun that precedes the direct object

These are optional Tells “to whom” or “for whom” the

action of the verb is done

ex) I kicked him the ball.

Draw an arrow from the action verb to the direct object and another one from the direct object to the indirect object (if there is one!).
