Services, Support, and Advocacy

Security & Compliance State & Federal Advocacy

Advocating for policies that improve access and outcomes for vulnerable patients and underserved communities:

• Improve and better coordinate patient care through data and interoperability standards

• Translate OCHIN research and learnings into policy to support health care transformation

• Increase access in rural and underserved areas by expanding telehealth and virtual care

OCHIN’s 2019 Advocacy Priorities

• California providers are leading the way in telehealth

• Providers need support both technically and financially

• Virtual Care Provider networks are incomplete

• Health Plans can be willing and supportive partners

• No playbook – still early, yet late

• Use case specific – don’t know yet where it’s optimal as a tool

• Reimbursement still a barrier – Medicaid still lags behind
