BOWDEN CAVE, WV

• Patient Assessment

an Oregon Spine Splint

Patient movement techniques

• After the patient is packaged we go down the steps and

across to the obstacle course.

Team Work

• Whether the cave is low and wide or tall and getting

higher, team work is needed

• This passages is only inches high and 3 feet wide.

• Just a small bump to navigate.

• Cave passages come on all shapes and styles.

• This passage started exceptionally steep and then changed into a greased slope.

• No passage is missed, even the space under the pavilion counts.

• Now the callout. We mobilize to find overdue cavers.

• Potential rescue personnel check in at the site.

• Teams are assigned and report to entrance control.

• Communications are setup above and below ground to coordinate the search and rescue.

• The Personnel Coordinator has made the assignments and awaits the next wave of request, volunteers, or sending every one home after the successful completion of the search and rescue.
