Photography for “Tracking”

By Olivia Houlton

For this image we took a picture from the footbridge looking down the track. Then we planned to Photoshop a person walking onto the track

Photograph 1Sketch of plan for shot

Putting the shot into practise

Photograph 2

For this image we took a picture of someone stepping over the yellow line to foreshadow the theme of danger

Photograph 3

For this image we took a picture of my eye and then we planned to enlarge it and Photoshop a train inside as if it were a reflection

Photograph 4For this image we took a picture overlooking the houses beyond the rails. Then we thought we could Photoshop a person standing in the window

Photograph 5For this image we took a picture of overlooking the platforms. We planned to make it seem like CCTV footage on the poster to give it a sense of secrecy and sincerity

Photograph 6For this image we again took a picture overlooking the platforms. However we planned to Photoshop someone on the tracks and a crowd surrounding with police tape everywhere to make it appear like a crime scene

Photograph 7For this image we took a picture of Freya sitting on the train bench. We thought this would create a sense of anticipation and nerve

Photograph 8For this image we took another picture looking down the track. However we took this one in the other direction so that the station was visible in the background to give the impression of an approaching train to again create the sense of anticipation

Photograph 9For this image we took a picture of train office station because we thought it had quite a creepy and rundown look. Again, we thought we could Photoshop someone in the window to create an uneasy atmosphere

Unplanned photographyFor this image we took a picture of Freya sitting on a platform. We thought this created a sense of enigma and rebellion. We were really pleased with this shot as we thought it captured a real sense of danger and creativity.

For this image we took a picture of a no entry sign with the railway in the background to further echo the theme of danger and seriousness
