During the afternoon period, Marcelo
Odebrecht, Managing Director of Odebrecht
s.A., and Amaury Bier, President of Gávea
Investimentos, served as the leaders for

opportunities for Or and the need to train new
entrepreneurs.
Amaury Bier highlighted the Organization’s
reputation as one of the reasons leading
Gávea to invest in Or and emphasized the
decentralized model and transversality
between businesses as highlights. Marcelo

which we live,” said ramos.
As for the challenges of 2012, he
emphasized that the year will involve
consolidating the OOG operations, with the
start of operation of four new drilling rigs

vessels (PLsVs) – in partnership with the French
company Technip – as well as the arrival of the
company’s first production ship to Brazil - the
FPsO Cidade de Itajaí.
For roberto ramos, one of the objectives
of the Annual Meeting was to intensify the
leaders’ commitment and extract contributions
for the company’s growth strategy. “We
identified new ideas and actions in the group
dynamics we did, which will be implemented

newest etH Bioenergia plant,
inaugurated on December 16,
2011. This is the company’s third
bioenergy unit in the state of

The ninth unit received
investments of r$ 1 billion in
the agricultural and industrial
areas and has an installed
capacity for processing 3.8

new Grandstands for Brazilian Fans> 2014 world cup
The construction work for the site to the opening of the World Cup, the Corinthians Stadium, is already 23% completed
Brazil is increasingly closer
to the 2014 World Cup. Last
December, the four stadiums
constructed by Odebrecht
Infraestrutura – Corinthians in
são Paulo, Fonte Nova Arena in
salvador, Pernambuco Arena
in são Lourenço da Mata, and
Maracanã in rio de Janeiro
– began an important phase
for the event and primarily
for fans: the installation of the
grandstands.
In the são Paulo capital,
after the beginning of the
Petrobras pipe placement, the
future corinthians stadium
installed the first rows of
lower grandstands for the East
building, the sector where the
construction is the furthest
along. The construction work
for the site to the opening of
the World Cup is already 23%
complete.
The grandstand beams
are made from concrete
parts that are pre-cast and
manufactured inside the
construction site itself. A total
of 2,450 of the 3,200 stakes
have already been driven in,
470 of the arena’s foundation
concrete blocks created and
32 “Jacaré” beams installed,
designed to provide support
for the East grandstand.
More than 950 direct job
opportunities created were
generated as part of the
project.

the construction work
was 41% completed at

the installation of the first
grandstand rows.
The first “Jacaré” beams
were also placed, designed

the seats. In all, 45,000 m³
of concrete will be used,
14,000 m³ in pre-cast parts
and 31,000 m³ in parts cast
at the construction site.
There are currently 2,100
Members working to rebuild
the stadium. The new
arena should be ready by
December 2012 for the 2013

The Pernambuco arena,
built in the Metropolitan
region of recife, is also
earning shape. With a pre-cast
structure that is assembled at
the site itself, the multi-use
arena made advancements
in the installation of the first
grandstands. This phase
should be completed by
November 2012.
The foundations are nearly
finalized, with 95% of the
work completed and 32% of
the structure erected. Over
2,000 Members currently
work on the project, whose
construction peak, estimated
for March of this year, should
gather 2,500 workers.

level of recognition in the
Petrobras Performance
Assessment Bulletin (BAD)
associated with the period
of December 14-27 of last
year.
Held twice a month, BAD
is an evaluation system
with four groups – each one
with different subdivisions
and scores – that analyzes
the areas of equipment
and materials, human
resources, installations and
effectiveness. “The system
43odebrechtnoticias.com.br / no. 273 / january 2012
The Norbe VIII operates in ultra-deep waters and has the capacity to drill in the pre-salt layer, operating in water depths of up to 3,000 meters
is a general and careful
assessment by Petrobras
related to the performance
of its service providers’
operations,” said Pedro
Mathias, Operations Director
of the OOG Drilling Business
Unit.
The company earned
scores higher than seven in
all of the analyzed categories
and its final score was 8.8,
which indicates a high
level of client satisfaction
with the services provided.
In the groups “equipment
and materials” and “human
resources,” the averages were
9.5 and 9.2, respectively.
BAD also analyzed areas for
improvement in each item,
helping to optimize the rig’s
operating processes.
According to Pedro
Mathias, when they begin
to operate, the drilling rigs
take some time to obtain
high performance rates.
“Because the NOrBE VIII
began operating in August
2011, reaching such a high
result so early is really quite
significant, even more so
because we know that
Petrobras is a rigorous client
when it comes to evaluating
its suppliers,” he said.
For Mathias, the results
achieved by the team
deserve recognition: “None
of this would be possible
without the dedication and
effort of the Members, who
consistently form a very well
evaluation team, always
seeking to improve and
overcome difficulties.”

Odebrecht Places Eighth in 2011 Valor “Large Groups” Edition
Braskem won the 2011
Innovative study and
Project Finance (FINEP)
Award in the ‘Large
Company’ category as the
year’s most innovative
company. The award
ceremony was held on
December 15 at the Planalto
Palace in Brasília and
involved the participation
of Brazilian President Dilma
rousseff.
The candidates in the
‘Large Company’ category
were analyzed by a special
jury and the three top
evaluated received the Gold,
silver and Bronze trophies.
The winners received non-
reimbursable funding that
ranges from r$ 120,000 to
r$ 2 million, depending
on the category. In all, the
21 candidates awarded in
five regions of the country
competed for the national
trophy.
During the delivery of
the award to Braskem,
President Dilma rousseff
stated that innovation
will become the antidote
for Brazilian industry as
it faces the international
economic crisis. “The
current international
scenario requires us to be
more competitive,” said
President rousseff. “The
markets of the developed
and emerging countries
have been reduced.” she
also stated: “The addition
of value will perhaps
become one of the greatest
instruments for the next
decade and upcoming years.
“There is no lack of political
will to invest in innovation.”
Last December, the newspaper Valor
Econômico disclosed its “Large Groups” special
edition, featuring the ranking of the 200
largest organizations in the country last year.
Odebrecht leapt from 12th to 8th place compared
to the 2010 list.
Among the 20 largest in the Industry, the
Organization earned 4th place with gross
earnings of nearly r$ 53.9 billion last year,
accounting for a 27.2% increase compared
to 2009. Luciano Guidolin, the professional
responsible for Entrepreneurship-Finance
support at Odebrecht s.A., stated that the start
of operation of the investments already made
and those for new projects should generate
opportunities for growth in Brazil and abroad.
