Remembering Bright Promise Fund in estate planning

Our Vision is . .

To enrich the life of Chicago and the communities served by partner schools through excellent Christian education.

And so?

We have a “grid” of characteristics to ensure the faith-based excellence of our schools

The Center for Christian Urban Educators is a tangible effort at increasing the professional development of our administrators and teachers.

Trinity Christian College Masters Degree in Urban Education is another sign.

Our Vision is . . .

To increasingly broaden and deepen a donor base of support by identifying new donors from within the Chicago business, corporate, church and foundation communities.

And so?

Our donor base now stands at 112 after four years, including the addition of 28 new donors last year.

Strategically, we need to retain donors, increase donors and donations, and find new donors.

Our Vision is . . .

To extend the reach of Bright Promise Fund, so that former Chicagoans or those with a heart for urban Christian education nationally and globally become sustaining donors.

And so?

Of the twenty-eight new donors last year, four came from Michigan, two from Indiana, six from Wisconsin, one from New Jersey and one from New York.

Our Vision is . . . To increase the number of partner schools in Chicago.

And so?

Original network: Cambridge in Kenwood, Chicago West Side in Lawndale, Daystar in South Loop, Humboldt Christian, Pui Tak in Chinatown , and Salem in Humboldt Park. Roseland is a work in progress.

Affiliated schools since our beginning: Chicago Hope Academy in Medical District, Cornerstone Academy on Wells, Lydia Academy on Irving Park,The Master’s Academy in Woodlawn, and Midwest Academy on North Cicero

Our Vision is . . .To enhance the marketing effort of all partner schools through collaborative technologies.

And so?

Our electronic and print newsletters regularly profile network schools.

Our presence on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook multiplies that exposure and gives us analytics to tell us what works and when.

“One Bright Night” personalizes this exposure in person-to-person contact with school leaders and donors.

Our Vision is . . .

To partner with similar organizations in Chicago and the nation so that urban Christian education is strengthened.

And so?

Among the organizations we stay in touch with are the Christian Educators Association, Christian Schools International, the Center for Catholic School Effectiveness, and the Children’s Jubilee Fund of Philadelphia.

Membership in the Donors Forum enhances our grant writing abilities on behalf of the network schools.

Our Vision is . . .

To be a voice for school choice and educational justice.

And so?

Our newsletters regularly feature items pertaining to school choice and educational justice

BPF authored op-ed pieces for Christianity Today, Think Christian, and Capital Commentary on the subject.

We speak on the topic for church adult education groups.

BPF is a member of Ed Choice Illinois and a sponsor of their events.
