INLAND TRIP

So what we are going to do here is show my trip inland to attend my friends house warming party.

Last winter my friend Pablo lost his house to fire.But from the ashes rises anew.

Ironic that the air is filled with smoke from all the areas forest fires. On the day of the party and just after

sunset we were rewarded with a spectacular thermallightning show gliding north over the coastal range

then later the full moon made an appearance.There are no pictures of the actual party.

So I head inland 3:30 Fri afternoon……

Hwy 199 (Redwood Hwy) coming down Hayes HillOut of the Illinois Valley (thick with smoke),

Heading down into the Applegate/Rogue Valleys.Looking East the mountains disappear into the smoke.

Same highway, in the valley heading into Grants Pass - this islooking north - distant center in Walker Mt, just left of center

distant is Mt Sexton.

Just finished lunch,it’s 106 degrees

Well that’s it for the house and property tour.

Before the party Sat I headed over to what was my mom’s propertythat my niece now owns. Her daughter now resides on the property in

a double wide.

I had built a cabin at the top of the hill and resided in it for severalyears before going on the road.

Sad to see some changes but that’s the way it goes.

Part of the old house still remains as storage.

Sunday morn heading back to the coast. This is going south on Hwy 199 outside of Cave Junctioncoming upon Rough And Ready Botanical area. The smoke is so thick - visibility was 1/2 mile.

Well that was my weekend get-a-way.

Got back about 1:30pm and picked up Robin and wentdown to the Port to catch the art show on the board walk.

While there we ran into the daughter and grandchildand a few friends.
