Our Norwegian connection

Despite being based in the UK, Dehns is one of the best known and most highly regarded firms of patent attorneys in Norway. Dehns has a long and proud history of working with Norwegian innovators, dating back nearly 40 years.

In the 1970s, Dehns began working with Nyegaard & Co. AS (later Nycomed ASA) in relation to their X-ray contrast agent technology and with Dynal in relation to their Dynabeads® technology. These companies expanded significantly in the 1980s and 1990s, and during this time our reputation spread amongst Norway’s research community.

Today, a significant proportion of our clients are Norwegian. Dehns represents 5 of the 10 Norwegian applicants with the most PCT filings in the last three years. Some of the companies we currently work for are shown on the right.

We also have strong working ties with Norwegian universities including Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen, Nordland, Tromsø and NTNU, as well as independent research/innovation centres including Oslo Innovation Centre, Institutt for Energiteknikk, Norsk Institutt for Luftforskning and SINTEF.

As a result, we have attorneys in Norway most weeks, so we are often available for meetings in person.
