TYPES OF PHOTOGRAPHY…

We took pictures around the school showing the following photography types:

Portrait:This is a portrait photograph with James being the

subject. Like a normal portrait, it focuses

mainly on the persons face and upper body,

and features a minimal amount of the

background. I like how casual this picture is, presented mainly by the facial expressions

and lack of eye contact.

This is another portrait photograph with

Charlie as the subject. It shares all the normal features of a portrait

photograph, where the subject is made the

main focus. The lighting and the eye

contact between him and the camera makes

this image more serious.

These are more examples of portrait photographs. They both focus entirely on the subject and have minimal background details. One is a lot closer than the other but they are still both classed as portraits.

Landscape:This is an example of a landscape photograph. Landscape photographs typically capture the presence of nature but can also focus on man-made features as shown here. I like the emptiness of this picture and all the different shapes and lines seen within it.

Macro: This is an example of Macro photography. This is photography producing photographs of small items larger than life size. I mainly took pictures of flowers for this topic as they are perfect for macro photography.

Abstract:This is a piece of abstract photography. Abstract photography focuses on shape, form, colour, pattern and texture. This example was taken of the canopy near the library at school. I love this photograph because of its contrasting bright colours and the lines created within it. I also like how the light is shining through the middle.

Architectural:

Architectural photography is the photography of buildings and similar structures. I took these examples of the English block as it is a clear example of this topic. I love how you can see part of the sky in the first one, and also the low angles within them. But I think that architectural photography is better when the full scale of a particular building is in shot.
