Who we are...FIS Outdoor is a leading landscape and irrigation distributor throughout the Southeastern United States. With over 30 branch locations, nearly 100 delivery vehicles, and millions of dollars in inventory of the best-selling brands, we are dedicated to provide you with the best service in the industry.
At FIS Outdoor, we strive to do business as seen through our customer’s eyes. We don’t want to be just a supplier of materials to you; we truly want to be an extension of your business. We know that it’s not just important to have the right products at a competitive price. It’s most critical to have your products available and delivered to you when you need them. We know that productivity of your employees is where the real money is either made or lost.
Operating from the “customer’s perspective”, we continue to find new ways to provide solutions to your needs and reasons for you to feel that we are “the easiest to do business with in the industry.” Based on your input, we have greatly broadened our product offering and services over the past several years. We believe this catalog gives you a quick look at the full outdoor product selection we now offer.
Although FIS is a fast growing company, we still do business as we did decades ago. We are a family owned business who sees our customers and our vendor partners as friends of the family . Serving friends is vastly different than just providing customer service.
When it comes down to it … people do business with people. The “face” of our company is not our logo. It’s the salesperson who works with you to secure projects. It’s the branch manager who facilitates your order. It’s the delivery driver who brings product to your job site. Each member of the FIS team is the “face” of FIS, and I am proud to say we have the best people in the industry.
Look for the FIS Outdoor logo, because your friends are here to help you!
Thank you for your business over the years. We look forward to serving you and growing with you in the future.
Best Wishes,
Jeff Bower Vice PresidentFIS Outdoor

COMMON WEEDSST. AUGUSTINE
Annual bluegrass grows to a height of 6 to 8 inches when left unmowed. It has light green, attened stems that are bent at the base and often rooted at the lower stem joint. Leaf blades are often crinkled part way down and vary from 1 to 3 inches in length with typical Poa, boat-shaped leaf tips. The inorescence (owering structure) is a terminal panicle that varies from 1 to 4 inches in length. Seed head initiation can start as soon as plants are 6 weeks old in early fall and continue until early summer, but most seed heads are formed in spring. The annual form of annual bluegrass is a rapid and prolic seeder.

SOLUTIONBahiagrass forms tall, unsightly seed heads throughout the spring, summer, and fall months that many nd objectionable. This necessitates regular mowing to keep the stalks from becoming too tall. The seed stems are tough and can wear out mower blades, requiring them to be sharpened frequently. High pH tends to cause yellowing of leaf tissue due to iron deciency. Bahiagrass grows in an open growth habit, which can result in weed encroachment into sparse areas. It has a coarse leaf texture and provides less cushioning for recreational activities than some other species. Bahiagrass ourishes in full sun.

Dollarweeds, Pennywort
Dollarweed (Hydrocotyle spp.), also known as pennywort, is a warm-season perennial weed.It gets the common name, dollarweed, from its silver- dollar-shaped leaves. The leaves of dollarweed are round, bright green, eshy and look like miniature lily pads measuring 1-2” indiameter with a scalloped edge. It has a low-growing habit that spreads by seeds, rhizomesand tubers. Dollarweed is often confused with dichondra. One way to distinguish the two is by looking at the placement of the leaf stem. Dollarweed has a stem located in the center of the leaf while dichondra’s stem is located at the edge.

Goosegrass
PART# CHE-DISMISS-6OZ
Goosegrass forms a pale green mat-like clump with attened stems that grows in a low rosette. Stems are somewhat eshy at the base. The mature plant can spread to about 2-1/2 feet (80 cm) wide. The leaf blades are nearly hairless, except for long hairs on the blade bases, collars, and/or upper sheath margins. Leaves are keeled along the midvein near the base of the blade. Sheaths are open, attened, keeled, and are whitish at the base around the collar.

Doveweed is a summer annual weed that usually germinates later in the growing seasonthan most other summer annual weeds and becomes a problem late in the summer. Dove-weed closely resembles a grass. Upon closer inspection, you will nd that doveweed has stems that root at the nodes and purple owers that appear on short stalks in clusters. The leaves are linear, and approximately 3/4 to 4 inches long. Leaf sheaths have soft hairs on the upper margins. Fruits are classied as capsules and are only 0.12 to 0.2 inches (3 to 5 mm) wide.

Although nutsedges resemble grasses and often are referred to as “nutgrass,” they aren’tgrasses but are true sedges. Their leaves are thicker and stier than most grasses and arearranged in sets of three at their base; grass leaves grow across from each other in sets oftwo. Nutsedge stems are solid, and in cross section they are triangular; grass stems arehollow and round, and in cross section they are almost at or oval. Nutsedge has three long, leaike bracts at the base of each ower head. Yellow nutsedge has light brown owers andseeds, while purple nutsedge owers have a reddish tinge and the seeds are dark brown/black.
White clover is a perennial with creeping stems rooting at some nodes. Leaves have threeleaets with a long erect petiole that is surrounded at the base by a membranous sheath. The owering heads are borne on long stalks from the stems and usually rise abovethe leaves. The ower cluster may be 1/2 to 11/2 inches in diameter. The petals are white.

PART# CHE-SIMAZINE4L-2.5GALField sandbur (grassbur) is a summer annual grassy weed that can be found in home lawns, sports elds, parks and along roadsides. This weed is especially adapted to dry, sandy soils but can be found growing in other types of soils as well. The big problem with this weed isthe sharp, spiny burs that are part of the inorescence. These burs can be painful and aredicult to remove from clothing material. Field sandburs (grassburs) generally start germ-inating in late spring and will continue to germinate until late summer or early fall months. This weed will continue to grow until the rst hard frost or freeze occurs in the fall.

Dallisgrass
Dallisgrass is a coarse-textured grass that grows in a clump and slowly increases indiameter as its shallow, underground stems (short rhizomes) grow outward. The rhizomeshave short internodes (the length of the stem between the joints) that look like concentric rings on its surface. The presence of these distinctive rhizomes is a good way to distinguishdallisgrass from other common clumping grasses in lawns, such as crabgrass. As the clumpmatures, the center may die and a dierent grass or weed may be growing in its center. Alternate:

Typically, it has spreading stems with wide, at leaf blades that lie on the groundwith the tips ascending. The inorescences is a panicle in which the spike-like branches arearranged in a digitate fashion. The spikelets are arranged in two rows on an angled or winged rachis. Each spikelet has two orets, only one of which is fertile. The rst bracts at thebase of the spikelets are either very minute or absent.
