the middle meningeal artery is very sensitive to pain & rich in pain receptors.

Common headache and facial pain syndromes;

1. Tension headache2. Migraine3. Cluster headache4. Raised Intracranial pressure5. Trigeminal neuralgia6. Post-herpetic neuralgia (after herpes zoster)

Important points in the headache history

1. The tempo of onset2. The time of the day of onset of maximal pain3. The effect of posture, coughing and straining4. The location of the pain5. Any associated symptoms
