ACKNOWLEDGMENT
I would like to start by thanking my teacher who has encouraged me and allowed me to do my
research paper on Parental Discrimination in terms of giving Education. Without her guidance
and support it would have been nearly impossible for me to complete this research. I especially
like to thank those who completed my survey questionnaires, all the students, parents who have
given me time from their very busy schedule,. Lastly I would like to thank my parents and my
friends who have encouraged me to write this proposal.

ABSTRACT
In my proposed research, which is I have chosen to do on Parental discrimination in terms of
giving education. I have found out that people have a negative perception towards female kids
regarding education. Actually Less Importance would be more appropriate instead of Negative
perception. When I interviewed and did survey on various people, I got to know that most of the
females believe parental discrimination in terms of giving education in the early life is the reason
behind their slow development. They agreed that directly or indirectly, somehow most of the
female kids get discriminated. The third world countrys children face the parental
discrimination in terms of giving education most .During my research, I worked with many
secondary sources, most of those sources were from third world countries, which gives us an
idea about the reason of massive gender discrimination in every field of work .My research
showed me that even after ensuring equal, sometimes more opportunities, women are still
lagging behind and the reason for that is the lack of confidence and skill. No matter how many
resources I give you ,if you dont have proper skill, knowledge and confidence ,you will never be
able to utilize the opportunities you are getting. Discrimination beings the disagreement, the
discrimination in the early life, creates a clear difference in the siblings, they got the idea of in
equality. Since it happened in their early life ,so it gets set in their mind and they cultivate this in
the future. A dominating and superior feeling come into males perception and most of the
females have the totally opposite perception, they feel inferior and starts to believe males are
superior. This is the reason of lagging behind of women

Introduction
In this 21st
century Women Right, this is the most highlighted topic. We are talking about
these things for a long time. Government ,people ,different NGOs ,institutions are always talks
about women right .have you ever thought that ,why this issue is so highlighted ,why its not
solving yet ,why people never talk about male right .the fact is ,women are lagging behind ,in
this modern age ,our educated society cant be agree with the thing inequality ,they are
desperate to remove it, thats why everyone is talking about women ,right ,discrimination and
this is how women discrimination became the most highlighted topic. But did you ever thought
of the reason behind it, its proven that knowledge is power ,education creates skills ,confidence
.Overall the resources of going forward ,winning is built into someone by knowledge. But in our
society ,especially in third world countries ,most of the female kids dont get proper education,
their parents gives more emphasis on their male kids ,as a result the base of female become
weak .As we know we cant move faster with a broken skeleton, in a same way if your base is
not strong ,if you dont have proper knowledge ,education then how come you expect to move
forward in a same speed with the man. Male kids got preference ,they receive the proper
knowledge ,as a result skills and confidence builds into them ,thats why they move forward in a
greater speed ,they earn their rights .In this competitive world ,if you cant earn your rights ,you
wont get in ,you have to attain it. Due to parental discrimination in terms of giving education
,subconsciously parents creates a line between their Childs and because of the extra privilege
,male kids starts to feel special and most importantly he feels female kids are not special like
him, so here introduce the term inequality which gets severe in the long run .

BACKGROUND
Discrimination is the prejudicial or distinguishing treatment of an individual based on their
actual or perceived membership in a certain group and category such as their sex, age,
nationality, skin color, religion. Parental discrimination in terms of giving education refers,
parents priority of giving proper education towards their children. Most of the tie, parents gives
more priorities to either their sons or daughters for securing the proper education. They give
more opportunities to one particular gender and thus discriminate with the other gender kids.
Most of the time it happens like, male kids are getting more chances to incurring education
compare to their sisters.
In countries like Bangladesh the society has a point of view that male deserves more priority
.parents gives more emphasis on their male children in terms of giving education, they are more
serious about their male kids education. How the ale kids are doing, what can really improve his
education; parents are concerned about these more. They think first for their male kids then their
female kids regarding education .they discrimination has a huge impact .Todays most highlighted
topic Gender discrimination, women right has derived from it.For the discrimination of giving
education makes the victim weak in the field of knowledge, as a result, victims become less
skilled, So they fail to compete with male in their long run. There are always exceptions but I am
talking as general. From the early stage of life, kids saw that males are getting more priority;
parents are caring about them ore regarding education. This feeling subconsciously makes them
feel superior. On the other side, female kids feel inferior. As a result an em-balance creates
between them which affects their relationship both in the early and future life .I have surveyed
on more than thirty people asked them thirteen questions related to parental discrimination and
its affects. I researched how it affects children life in the long run

Area of Research
We have found out parental discrimination in terms of giving education creates a thought in the
female kid that they are not equal to the male kid ,the female kids started to believe that male
kids are more special, they have the higher priority. Female will stay behind of male,
subconsciously this phycology builds up .Again deprivation of equal opportunity of receiving
education hampers female kids mental growth. Its very simple to understand ,if you dont get
the light of education in your preparation stage of life ,then obviously you will not have a
stronger base of knowledge which will put you behind .Same thing happens with the female kids
in the third world countries like Bangladesh .We know that knowledge is power ,key element of
mental growth ,absence of proper education will reduce the mental growth rate what makes
people inefficient .Same thing happens with female ,lack of education makes them inefficient
.Discrimination interrupts the balance of siblings ,what often creates a bitter relationship between
the siblings .parents and society often underestimates the necessity of females proper education.
Less education, less opportunity makes women less productive. Their skills dont develop well,
as a result they remain less confident .Because of all of these, Women are still lagging behind of
men

HYPOTHESIS
Parental discrimination in terms of giving education is happening very often in our society. Its
damaging our society a lot, especially women are affecting a lot .In their early stage of life,
which is the time of preparation, they are getting deprived of equal opportunity of receiving
education, what breaks their spirit from the beginning. Women are affecting in many ways for
the parental discrimination, they are finding themselves weak compare to men in their parents
eyes, becoming less confident in early age, their relation with siblings changes, it turned into a
bitter one and eventually in the long run they lag behind from
Methodology
Primary Data
For my primary data I have conducted a survey on 3 groups of people
1) General People
2) Parents
I basically emphasized more on final year students and the people who are now in job sector .So
that I can get a matured answer. In my questionnaires, I have asked 13 different questions to get
a clear view of their perspective regarding parental discrimination in terms of giving education.
People of different age group answered the survey questionnaires. The question were started with
basic questions like age, sex and if they liked to cook or not. Gradually the questions became
more intense and made them think. The questionnaires were designed to make sure that they

provide the best possible way to provide information that let me know about what they think
about parental discrimination and how it affecting women development
Secondary Data
For my Secondary Research I have used resources in the library .I have also browsed the internet
and read blogs of male chefs and their autobiography. I would use standard search engines like
Bing and Google to enhance my research. For the books I have used Shelfari.com which had lot
of books on my research topic. I have read articles online and surfed Wikipedia.

In the bar chart above we can see that most of the people I have surveyed believe that parents do
discrimination in terms of giving education, 6 out of 10 people believe that parents do
discriminate their child when it comes to give the priority of giving education.Again 4 out of 10
people also disagree with that, they think parents dont discriminate children in terms of giving
education
From the above chart we can determine that most of the people thinks parental discrimination in
terms of giving education occurs but we can also say that there are almost equal number of
people who also disagree with the statement

In the bar chart above shows the answers of my question on which basis, parents do
discrimination in terms of giving education among the children.4 out of 10 people said parents
do it on the basis of gender ,4 out of 10 said ,its merit and 1 out of 10 said ,it depends on the
circumstances. Now we can see that ,most of the people think ,almost half of the people said this
discrimination occurs based on gender ,again almost equal number of people said its Merit. From
this statistics we can determine that Gender basis parents do discrimination most,

Do you think ,parents give more prior it ies to their male chi ldr en ?
The bar chats above shows most of the people think parents give more priority to the male kids.
4 out of 10 people said male kids get more priority, 3 out of 10 people totally disagreed with it
and 3 out of 10 people said it depends on the situation; parents took decision of giving priority
according to the situation. So from the statistics given above we can determine that, most of the
people think parents gives more priority to the make kids
I believe that from the point of view from a Bangladeshi chef the salary that they earn might be
very low but as soon as people will understand the value and importance of a chef it will rise
exponentially.

Have you ever faced discrimination in terms of receiving education fr om your parents ?
When I asked this question ,most of the people got a bit tensed ,a bit embarrass .Some were
unwilling to give answer .Eventually 6 out of 20 people said ,they faced discrimination in terms
of receiving education and 4 out of 10 disagreed .the people who said yes ,they explained that
,their siblings ,especially male siblings are studying aboard and they are studying here. Most of
my surveys filled up by NSU students which is a top university in Bangladesh .if here 4 out 10
people says ,they were discriminated ,so we can get a idea that ,in the rest of the universities the
number of discriminated people will be higher .

priority because they believe male kids will take care of them in future ,since female kid will stay
will have new family after getting married ,they cant take care of them.Again,3 out of 10 people
said ,Our society has a perception that women has less chance to be successful .So that parents
gives more priority to male kids .And 1 out of 10 people said ,there can be other issues like
