Adapting to climate change

Implications for new development

Provision, spatial distribution, location and design of new development should be planned to: • limit carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions• use decentralised and renewable or low carbon

energy• consider climate change mitigation and

adaptation together.

Role of development management
