A double graduation was theoccasion for a dinner party at thehome of Mr. and Mrs. John Einuison Patchogue road Sunday. Guestsof honor were their daughters ,Veronica and Vrginia , who gradu-ated from Port Jefferson Highschool and Yaphank Elementaryschool , respectively. Those pre-sent were Mr. and Mrs. EdwardProkopowicz of Richmond Hil l ;Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Mazurkewiczand children , Thomas and Dolores,Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Sadowskiand children, Jerry, Andrea andMichael , all of Brooklyn; and MissBetty Koller of Sayville. Mrs.Mazurkewicz and daughter , Do-lores, are spending the week withthe Einuises.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Joswig ofRidgewood planned to attend thegraduation of their grandson , Wil-liam Neuss, at the Charles E.Walters school last Thursdaynight. Instead they visited himat Brookhaven Memorial hospitalwhere he was taken June 19 whencomplications arose following anattack of the mumps.

Mrs. Pauline Glover and Mrs.John Backer attended the gradu-ation of Mrs. Glover 's grandsonfrom Riverhead High school Tues-day night.

Several young people from Yap-hank participated in the bacca-laureate service held at the PortJefferson High school Sundaynight. Virginia Sykes, Carol Craigand Carl Faust sang in the acap-pella choir. Miss Sykes also sanga solo. Marie Ann General playedviolin in the school orchestra whichalso participated.

CLASS NIGHT PROGRAMThe Charles E. ' Walters school

was the scene of the annual classnight on June 18. Each classparticipated in the progra-m, andindividual honor roll certificateswere presented by the YaphankPTA. The kindergarten, underthe direction of Mrs. Crause, sangthree selections. Miss Anderson 'sfirst grade recited the Twenty-third Psalm in unison. The secondgrade, with Mrs. Cochrane incharge, gave choral recitations.Miss McGlaughlin's third gradedid a song and dance and RichardLewin entertained with an ac-cordion solo. The fourth grade,under the direction of Mr. Tilling-hast sang a medley of cowboytunes. Mrs. Welling's fifth gradefollowed with a square dance. Thesixth grade, with the assistanceof Mrs. Danner , composed a poemfor each of the countries theystudied during the year. Entitled"Around the World in 180 Days,"the group of poems was recitedby students dressed in a costumeappropriate to the country. Theseventh grade, directed by ' Mrs.DeWqlf , concluded the programwith a short skit.

GRADUATION EXERCISESEighth Grade graduation was

held last Thursday night in the

audi tor ium of the Charles E.Walters school , which was beauti-full y decorated with palms andflowers. In the absence of theRev. Peter Flynn . who was unableto be present, the Rev. Carl E.Silver of the Yaphank and MiddleIsland Presbyterian churches , gavethe invocation and benediction.The saultatory address was givenby Jack Hofmann. Paul Cochraneplayed a trumpet solo. The ClassHistory, Class Will and ClassProphecy were read by HelenKalbach , Edith Martin and JaneFerber, respectively. A vocalrendition followed by Susan Ho-lolob. Rev Silver was the guestspeaker, and hs topic was "Havingthe Courage to be Different".

The presentation of diplomaswas made by Robert E. Williams,president of the board of education.The valedictory was made byClaus Guldhorn. Special awardswere given to Claus Guldhorn ,Edith Martin and Gerard Krauseby Mrs. Swezey. She also present-ed honor roll cerificates to RobertBrand , Jane Ferber, Clans Guld-horn , Jack Hofnlann, Helen Kal-bach; and Edith Martin.
