• He went to summer stock in Wisconsin where he met his wife, and moved to Ohio after his father’s death to start a business.

• Asked his brother (Arthur Newman) to take over the business and he did.

• He ended up attending Yale school of Drama, and making it to Broadway where he got his big break.

• Friday, Newman died near west port at his home with a long battle of cancer.

• He passed away on September 26, 2008 at 12:00 a.m.

•He died on the same day as his birthday, but a different month.

•He was age 83 and was diagnosed 3 months before his death, and was a heavy smoker 30 years before his diagnostic.

before his acting career?

• Newman had a love for theatre since he was a child, and he performed in his first production at age seven in the show Robin Hood.

•As his life went on and he got older, Newman began a military career.

• He was discharged from the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1946 then started going to school at Kenyon, and began playing football before an unfortunate injury.

•He graduated in 1949, and got accepted in the middle of World War II at Yale School of Drama.

• He joined summer stock company in WI. And then IL. Repertory theatre.

•He married Jacqueline Witte(actress), and they had three kids.

•They moved to the Cleveland area to start a sporting goods store and once sold, he took his family to New Haven Connecticut.

• When all of that mess happened, he said he felt destroyed.

• He felt as if everybody just forgot me and carried on with their lives

• But when I was deployed, it only got worse

• My comrades beat me bullied me and put me down every chance they got.

• After a couple years we warmed up to each other after protecting and saving each others lives

• My days In Vietnam were numbered and I thought about my family, if they were going to except me or not

• Surely enough, when I arrived back to the states the had prepared for my arrival

• Finally after every thing I had been through my life was finally being patched back together
