APPLICATIONPurpose: To assist state/chapter associations in creating and/or strengthening outreachinitiatives that improve the association’s state advocacy, engagement in education policy,enhance development capacity, trainmembers on and developmedia relations, or increasealumniengagement.MatchFunds:

1. States/ChaptersbecomeeligibleformatchingfundseachCOEbudgetyear,July1-June30, after their RegionalAssociation commitsOutreach Initiatives funds for eachof itsstates/chapters.

2. COEmatchestheRegionalAssociation’scommitment;upto$500foreachstate/chapterwithanapprovedgrantrequestsubmission.

3. States/Chapters areencouraged tobudget their ownadditional funds to leverage thecombinedCOEandRegionalcommitment.

SubmissionRequirements:Associationsareasked tocomplete theattachedapplication formandprovideabriefprojectsummary.Theprojectsummaryshouldbeattachedandlimitedtotwopagesinlength.Includeadetailedbudgetshowingtheamountrequestedandmatchedforallactivities.TheCouncilwillNOTgrantfundsfortraveltotheCouncil’sPolicySeminar,foodinexcessof$250,orcommitteeplanningmeetings.Theapplication’sbudgetshouldclearlyshowhow funds will be used (being careful to follow non-allowable cost guidelines previouslydetailed). Please explain in detail how the proposed activity or event will impact thestate/chapters’ ability to conduct outreach and advocacy of the TRIO mission. The projectsummaryshouldalsoincludeevaluationmethod(s)toassesstheproject.Deadline: Please send an electronic version of the application form and project summary toyourRegional President or his/her designee for signature.Onceapprovedwith signaturebyyour Regional President (or his/her designee), applications are then forwarded by theregional president/designee to COE Coordinator of State Initiatives Tallie Sertich(tallie.sertich@coenet.org). It is up to the regional president/designee to send their region’sapplication(s)astheycomeinorinabatchbythebi-annualdeadline.TheCOECoordinatorofState Initiatives sends them to the COE Board State Leadership Committee for review andapproval. Approved funds will be dispersed to your regional treasurer. Deadlines forapplicationsareMay1standDecember1stofeachyear. Anyapplicationsreceivedafterabi-annualdeadlinewillbeconsideredinthefollowingdeadline’sround.Awardee Requirement: All successful awardees are required to submit a Follow-up Reportwithin30daysoftheawardedproject’scompletion,includingevaluationresultsandphotos(ifapplicable).AFollow-UpReporttemplatewillbeprovidedtoawardees.
