ZETA OMICRON GAMMA SIGMA SIGMA
It’s been a great semester with the Zeta Omicron Chapter. We’re very excited to welcome 38 members-in-training into our chapter as well as host our very own Diabetes 5K Walk/Run. Please check out what we’ve been up to and “like” us on Facebook to stay in the loop with current events and photos.Hope all is well!
All The Best,

My favorite part about RUSH Week was the cookout at the Grove. I loved hanging out with all the MIT's and members and meeting new people. The food was amazing thanks to our awesome cooks and the service project was fun. I thought this RUSH activity was a great way to just mingle and get to know the people that I will be spending a lot of my time with over the next year and hopefully many years to come.

I had a sort of late start into rush retreat . . . I had lost my sheet and it wasnʼt until Tuesday that I was able to stop Lexi on the side of the street to see where the next event I could attend was. I made it to t h e c o o k o u t a n d t o p a i n t canvases which both had me pretty convinced that I wanted to become a Gamma Sig. However, the retreat was by far the most fun. I got to know several of the members and a good bit of the MITʼs. We bonded over a campfire and an early morning, and even how we like our coffee (wink wink, Lauren). I couldnʼt have asked for a better start onto my journey with Gamma Sigma Sigma.

Rush Week (Sept. 12th-17th 2011)
UNITY WEEKEND [TYBEE ISLAND]
SEMI-FORMAL [MODERN FAIRYTALE]
This semester, our Zeta Omicron chapter has make
an extra effort to keep in contact with our District Director, Jennifer Baker.
Every month, we send her an update about the
chapter events! She is very excited about everything
we are up to and we cannot wait for her visit!

We currently have 38 MITs and soon to be members! The MIT period this semester has been eight weeks long. The MIT
fundraiser is selling hot chocolate and doughnuts on campus. They held a wonderful Jungle Diva social to get to know all of the members! And their service project will be collecting socks
for the GNETS' students for the winter. Membership cannot wait for Sisterhood Retreat next semester!

Unity Weekend at Tybee Island was a blast! Each lady that
came was able to help for 3.5 hours at the Salvation Army moving beds, furniture, and
organizing the warehouse! We are looking forward to a visit
from our District Director, Jennifer Baker, who is going to come visit our Initiation and Diabetes Walk! On November 12, not only are we welcoming in 38 MITs, but 6
Honorary Members as well!

We are extremely stoked about our new IMPACT areas and all that our chapter has done to embrace them! Get pumped
for our Diabetes Walk on November 12th! We are
excited about presenting our chapter to the Milledgeville community! A peek ahead-
Spring event is March 11- GC Baseball Miracle League Day to benefit the Miracle League
of Macon!

This semester, we had semi-formal on Front Campus for the first time
and it was very successful! The theme was Modern Fairytale!
Next semester, we are looking to having our Murder Mystery social
and we are thinking about having Formal in Atlanta!
Social Liaison Mandy Slack
Public Relations Liaison Michele McGuire
We are so excited for our largest event of the semester, our Diabetes Walk and were
recently featured on the Macon News! Gamma Sigma Sigma is becoming well known
not only on campus, but around the Milledgeville-
Baldwin County area! It is a great feeling to know that
such an amazing organization is being recognized for all that
it does.
Alumni Liaison Danielle Paluga
We are excited about alumni lunch this year. It will be after
the GIVE Center's Potato Drop event, where students from
different organizations come to help feed the hungry and
bag potatoes for the community!
Our biggest fundraiser this semester will be Balloon Popping!
We have collected donations (coupons, goodies) from
businesses around the community and will be "balloon popping" at the Diabetes Walk. We have some great fundraisers for the Spring Semester that are
already in gear!
TreasurerLauren Conway
This is our first semester with the financial
secretary as a member of the executive board. While there were some growing pains at the
beginning, now it is much easier for the treasurer to
focus on fundraisers. I have developed the
payment boxes which make collecting money
much easier.

My committee and I have made contact with over 28 chapters nationally, as well
as our District Director. Additionally, I have been
very busy with organizing all room reservations and files.
