Itassumesnopriorknowledgeofeitherphilosophyormathematicsasitisanintroductorylevelcoursethatcoversthemainareasof logic,which includesbothClassicalandModernLogicalongwith Induction,ScientificReasoningandModalLogic.ThecoursebeginsbyintroducingthebasicconceptsusedinlogicbeforeexploringthedomainofAristotelianlogic.WethenmovetoModernDeductive.HerePropositionalCalculusandPredicateCalculusareintroducedalongwithdifferentmethodsfordetermining the validityof arguments (and generating counter examples). Induction and ScientificReasoningwillbeintroducedafterPredicateLogic.Modalconceptsaretreatedtowardstheendofthecourse.COURSEPREREQUISITE(S)
