RECOMMENDATIONS Enlightenment programs in our communities
Better monitoring of our pipeline (aerial surveillance ,motorized patrols by security and community involvement).
Report suspected vandals and damaged pipelines to enforcement agents.
Need to establish a special court to handle oil theft(speedy prosecution)
Security documentation and registration of all transport tankers and vessels.
CONCLUSION Contributes to poverty, environmental degradation, societal
dislocation and crises in our communities.
Government should encourage and create awareness of the safety, security and economic implications of pipeline vandalisation.
Community policing should be adopted.
A strong law for prohibiting vandalisation should be put in place
Pipeline vandalisation is a national problem, which we must all join hands to eradicate.
It is a Time Bomb that ceases to claim victims
