Serious traffic issues here. Queues of traffic and many HGVs turning in a tight space with pedestrians and cyclists amongst them. Need traffic restrictions or a bypass.

New construction can be acceptable

Haddon Hall care home fits in well with Buxton architectural themes. Will the new Premier Inn do the same? We will find out soon.

Relocate the Cottage Hospital?

Is there an opportunity to relocate Buxton Healthcare premises onto the ex-Nestle site on Station road? The old sites can be used for housing.

Building plot – Corner of A515 and Harpur Hill Road

Considerable amount of stone excavated from this site some years ago, stood vacant since. Nature has replaced bare eyesore with vegetation and much birdlife.

Smashed sign should be removed. Can small old bridge be retained?

Repairs and replanting

Sections of broken fence should be repaired. Tree screening does not work well unless very densely planted and wide – beware developer's sop!! This example at Staden lane.

Foxlow Farm development site

Planning permission for a mixed-use development of up to 375 dwellings, a residential and/or retirement facility for up to 70 units, and business units. The layout and building design will have a profound affect on this gateway into Buxton.

Burlow Road and Heathfield Nook road development will add another 300 houses then there is the old university site in Harpur Hill.

In total upwards of 1000 dwellings around Harpur Hill.
