TRANSCRIPT

A new way of working

Presentation to VidenDanmark

September 29, 2010

Work is facing two major issues

Issue #1: Email and documents used too much• Email are not suited for working together as they are

locking information in• Documents is not an efficient way of creating and

sharing knowledge/information

Issue #2: Array of tools• Companies have an array of tools for various aspects

of their business. This include both internal and external tools (LinkedIN, Facebook, Twitter)

• Most of the internal tools are very siloed • The external tools are hard to integrate

Need for a system as flexible as email and documents and as social as having a meeting while integrating all tools needed

Podio combines micro-blogging, streams, and wikis in a meaningful way

Microblogging• Flighty and

unstructured• Hard to focus on

a specific area• Focused on ‘here

and now’

Wiki’s• Not engaging

with audience• Too static• Focused on

knowledge – not data

Podio• Things are created in apps

inside spaces which adds structure and context

• Creations, edits, etc. are pushed to a stream

Key elements of PodioApps.

• Podio is empowering the user to build the tools they need to do their job

• Building apps on Podio can be done by anyone without technical knowledge

• Podio connects to other tools, networks and existing information

• The user can use templates or get apps from the app-store

Networked organisation.

• Podio consist of spaces where you have the tools, the people, and the information you need to do your job

• Users can invite people across organisations

• On Podio users have a global identity that they use across organisations to aggregate information

Comes with social.

• Podio is social as work is• Things inside a space is shared and

transparent to its members• Items can be commented, rated,

tasked, etc• Updates are pushed into a stream

without any ‘double book keeping’

Full platform.

• The tools you need to get your work done exist inside podio, i.e. tasks, calendar, messaging, stream, documents

• Podio adds structure by linking content• The API enables content and activities

from other places to live inside Podio
