Urban design and Buildingapproach

The goal of the lab of 2006 was to study theconcepts of the Urban intervention, searchingand studying the culture and needs for oneNeigborhood ,the intervention zone take place inBogota, inside the center of the neighborhood ofSuba.

The project begins with one need, due that thecultural house was overloaded with people andactivities, there was and urgent need of anotherplace to relocated people and activities, thegoal on this project is to manage all the artprograms and part of the people to one newBuilding with new public spaces, but keeping theheritage zones and all the existing green areas,the project take place inside of the foundationalcenter of the neighborhood .

Based on the cultural needs and the short spacesof work for the new artist on the zone, this projectcreates new areas for arts study and a center ofarte develop for all the zone , close to the mostemblematic buildings of this areas ( Centralsquare, central church , museum of history,commercial zone , neighborhood town hall,schools )

FINANCIAL CENTER

The goal of the lab of 2006 was to studythe concept of the Urban landscapedesign and urban intervention inside of onezone of development on a real growingcity, the lab take place on one smallperimetral city outside of Bogota,specifically on the city of Funza.

The work program take place on a Virtualand spatial workshop , considering thepossibility of creating a new Building , wealso decided to create new public spacesfor new growing commercial areas of thiscity, due to the natural growing of the citieswe solve that this city will develop his urbaninfrastructure to supply the demand of newfinancial and commercial places fromBogota.

The Study provides a new view of theconcepts of a lineal buildings, zones ofcommercial developing in the city, greentechnology mixed with the architectonicaldemand of commercial areas also onestep inside on the architectonical design ofthe building.

Building Restoration

HOSTAL

The goal of the lab of 2008 was to studythe Urban needs inside the historical centerof Zipaquira, making and Urban analysisbased on the density of activities and theneeds of new equipments, adding newcommercial and residential activities insidethe city center.

The project is development inside of one ofthe most historical and oldest houses onthe city center of Zipaquira.

The Idea about taking place on thisbuilding was to recovery this old andbeautiful architectonical concept andgive a new oportunitty to restore the valuesof the colonial architecture of the city. Thereal situation of the house is and advancestate of abandonment, also in response tothe elevated needs of touristicinfrastructure, the solution is keeping theOld house and change the distribution toadapt most of the building for the newuses program.

Complementing the old architecture with a new and better spaces the solution to the city center of Zipaquira is one Travelers Hostel

WATER MUSEUM

The goal of the lab of 2009 was to studythe concept of the Urban interventioninside of one zone of development on agrowing city, the project take place on thecity of Villavicencio.

The lab propose a series of equipmentsinside of the actual structure of the citysearching how the students establish a newbuilding inside and already consolidatedurban area.

The project in charge it’s a Museum, thethematic of the museum was defined bythe University and it has it to by insertedinside a marginal zone of the city, the ideaof how a new building is integrate or how anew equipment for the city is carefullyinserted it’s the point of the lab

Basically, the city doesn’t count with publicspaces, a few parks in the city response forthe community , this analysis give us a newidea, generating a new urban space forthe community and also a new kind ofbuilding on this area.

In order to generate a new concept oforganization with the actual constructionsin the city, the new equipment creates anew idea of rationality and symmetry.

Taking places on a different terrain , thebuilding has the capacity to aloud thepopulation to enjoy this area , showing andopen a “friendly building”
