“The first noble truth says simply that it’s part of being human to feel discomfort. … The point is that our true nature is not some ideal that we have to live up to. It’s who we are right now, and that’s what we can make friends with and celebrate.”

Unintended Consequences Of COVID-19 • Students- not having enough practicum, internship or post doc hours to

meet state requirements for licensure, moving to pass-fail grading, distance learning

• Applicants- testing sites were closed and are just beginning to open in some states, is telepsych supervision allowed to meet experience requirement, temporary licensure without taking exam(have to take it later, interferes with mobility)

• Psychologists- renewals for licensure, CE for renewals, interjurisdictional practice, discipline, differences in open and closed states, differences in laws in the different jurisdictions

What ASPPB is planning to do

• Talk with all stakeholders:• Education

• Training (CCTC and CCPPP)

• State and provincial psychological associations

• Practice (APA and CPA)

• Regulatory Community (ACPRO, BARC, Chairs and member jurisdictions)

• APA Committees: APAGS and CECP

• APA attorneys in Practice – Legal and Regulatory Affairs

• Other professions (FSMB, ABSW, etc.)
