Potential Planning Needs (a subset)

• Review of current food safety guidelines following oil spills in Alaska and existing authorities available to FOSCs.

• Review of other RRT’s policies and guidance on food safety, guidance issued by other countries, and the published literature.

• Identification of Alaskan and national experts that could contribute to development of future guidelines.

• Broad consideration of food safety and security, including cultural losses, traditional knowledge, etc.

• Summary of funding issues related to food safety management, testing, sampling, and other necessary monitoring.

• Development of a guidance document and potential fact sheets for FOSCs and public on food safety during spills
