Utilization of POWER OF HABIT by Corporate Trainers

THE HABITS OF INDIVIDUALS

Habits emerge because the brain is constantly looking for ways to save effort.

The process of habit is explained using a loop:- THE HABIT LOOP

CUE- a trigger that tells your brain to go into automatic mode and which habit to use. ROUTINE- physical or mental or emotional response.Reward-helps your brain remember a particular loop for the future.

CREATION OF POSITIVE NEW HABITS

BY CORPORATE TRAINERS AIM: To enhance man power potential by

adopting more effective and result oriented habits.

HYPOTHESIS: By changing the routine the same old reward can be obtained.

IDENTIFY THE THREE ELEMENTS:-

The CUE The ROUTINE The REWARD

FIND THE CRAVINGAfter identifying the three elements find the craving that sets the routine loop in motion.

CHANGE THE ROUTINEOnce the craving is identified the corporate trainer changes the routine in order to change the habit.

Example : When an employee is stressed the trainer will suggest a chocolate or candy over cigarettes by placing a jar of candies on the desk of the employee and Refusing him the smoke break.

Hence the trainee will reach the same reward of satisfaction or relief from stress.

CHANGE WITH OTHERS:-Changing behavior pattern is easier in a group.

If all the employees of a firm work on changing their habitual routine together it becomes a cakewalk for all.

WORK ON KEYSTONE HABITShabits that are more exclusive for a particular task accomplishment are keystone habits.

These habits have a deep impression on how people work, eat, live and communicate

When a corporate trainer works on these habits, he can transform almost everything.

WILLPOWER- THE MOST IMPORTANT KEYSTONE HABIT

Willpower is not a skill but a muscle, that gets tired as it works harder

So this muscular energy must be put into use where it is most required.

The corporate trainer makes sure that this energy is produced and used by the trainees in the most prominent tasks of the firm.
