ONE DAY NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON ISLAMIC BANKING AND FINANCE

The Department of Islamic Finance, SIAS and Indian Centre forIslamic Finance (ICIF), Delhi are jointly organized a national level workshopon “Islamic Banking and Finance” on16th January 2020 at SIAS seminar hall.The session began with a welcome note by Mr. Abdul Majeed. K, AssistantProfessor, Department of Islamic Finance who welcomed the wholegathering. Mr. Naji Naseem, HOD of Islamic Finance has given thepresidential addressing. The workshop was formally inaugurated by Prof. E.P Imbichikoya, beloved principal of SIAS in the presence of the resourceperson, HOD and other staff members. In his inaugural speech, heencouraged the students to come out with their hidden skills to conquerheights in the field of Islamic banking and finance. Dr Hassan Shareef (Dept.Of Islamic Studies), Mr. Faheem P. N ( Department of Islamic Finance)felicitated the programme.

Around 45 participants including industrialists, academiciansand students from different parts of the country are registered andphysically presented in the workshop. The participants are provided with aprinted material on Islamic banking and finance at the time of registration.Mr. Abdul Rahman Abdul Latheef P N, Islamic Finance expert and the co-founder of InTheShade was the resource person. He explained in detail thebasic terminologies used in Islamic finance like Mudaraba, Murabaha,Musharaka etc. with a more practical outlook. The session was so vibrantwith the active involvement of all the participants who were found socurious to listen to the resource person. The workshop ended with a vote ofthanks by Faheem PN, Asst. Professor Department of Islamic Finance.
