exodus 7-12

Exodus 7:14-18 (ESV): “Then the LORD said to Moses, ‘Pharaoh’s heart is hardened; he refuses to let the people go. 15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning, as he is going out to the water. Stand on the bank of the Nile to meet him, and take in your hand the staff that turned into a serpent. 16 And you shall say to him, “The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, sent me to you, saying, ‘Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness.’ But so far, you have not obeyed. 17 Thus says the LORD, ‘By this you shall know that I am the LORD: behold, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water that is in the Nile, and it shall turn into blood. 18 The fish in the Nile shall die, and the Nile will stink, and the Egyptians will grow weary of drinking water from the Nile.’”’

Hebrews 12:11 (ESV): “For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”

Exodus 7:23-25 (ESV): “Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not take even this to heart. 24 And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile for water to drink, for they could not drink the water of the Nile. 25 Seven full days passed after the LORD had struck the Nile.”

John 8:44 (ESV): “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires.”

1 Peter 2:15 (ESV): “For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people.”

exodus 7-12

Main Point WHERE THERE’S A WILL, EVIL FINDS A WAY.

Romans 7:19 (ESV): “For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.”

1 Peter 2:21 (NLT): “For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.”

Exodus 8:8-15 (ESV): “Then Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron and said, ‘Plead with the LORD to take away the frogs from me and from my people, and I will let the people go to sacrifice to the LORD.’ 9 Moses said to Pharaoh, ‘Be pleased to command me when I am to plead for you and for your servants and for your people, that the frogs be cut off from you and your houses and be left only in the Nile.’ 10 And he said, ‘Tomorrow.’ Moses said, ‘Be it as you say, so that you may know that there is no one like the LORD our God….”

“…11 The frogs shall go away from you and your houses and your servants and your people. They shall be left only in the Nile.’ 12 So Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh, and Moses cried to the LORD about the frogs, as he had agreed with Pharaoh. 13 And the LORD did according to the word of Moses. The frogs died out in the houses, the courtyards, and the fields. 14 And they gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank. 15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart and would not listen to them, as the LORD had said.”

Exodus 9:19-20 (ESV): “‘Now therefore send, get your livestock and all that you have in the field into safe shelter, for every man and beast that is in the field and is not brought home will die when the hail falls on them.’ 20 Then whoever feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh hurried his slaves and his livestock into the houses.”

Exodus 10:7 (ESV): “Then Pharaoh’s servants said to him, ‘How long shall this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God. Do you not yet understand that Egypt is ruined?’”

Exodus 10:28-29 (ESV): “Then Pharaoh said to him, ‘Get away from me; take care never to see my face again, for on the day you see my face you shall die.’ 29 Moses said, ‘As you say! I will not see your face again.’”

Exodus 11:4-5 (ESV): “So Moses said, ‘Thus says the LORD: “About midnight I will go out in the midst of Egypt, 5 and every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die.’”

1 John 4:11 (ESV): “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

1 John 4:16 (ESV): “God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”

Exodus 12:21-24 (ESV): “Then Moses called all the elders of Israel and said to them, ‘Go and select lambs for yourselves according to your clans, and kill the Passover lamb. 22 Take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and touch the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. None of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning. 23 For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses to strike you. 24 You shall observe this rite as a statute for you and for your sons forever.”

1 Corinthians 5:7 (ESV): For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.”

John 13:1 (NIV’84): “It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the fullest extent of his love.”

Romans 5:8 (ESV): “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:17-18 (ESV): “For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. 18 Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men.”

John 6:40 (NASB): “For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.”

application FIGHT FREEDOM WITH FREEDOM.

Galatians 5:13 (ESV): “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

John 18:36 (NKJV): “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”

1 Corinthians 13:4 (ESV): “Love is patient.”

1 Corinthians 5:12 (ESV): “For what have I to do with judging outsiders?”

Romans 13:3-4 (ESV): “For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.”
