To build an Adventure Golf
Mini golf is a popular leisure activity in many countries, not only for families but also for friends and work colleagues. It’s not unusual to spend an hour or two at the course at least a couple of times during the season brushing up your putting skills! In the past few years several holiday resort chains, camping sites, hotels and theme parks have invested in building extravagant courses which have led to an increase in both visitor numbers / spend per head increasing their overall financial success. With the development of building more spectacular Adventure Golf courses and the resulting increase in visitor numbers it has become a realistic profit making attraction with most courses attracting over 20 000 visitors per season.
An investment in Adventure Golf is an important ingredient for any modern leisure area, offering a pleasant, family oriented activity offering longer dwell time on site and increasing spend per head - all in all “it’s a good business deal.”
Scandinavian Minigolf/City Golf are Europe’s leading design and construction company for Adven-ture Golf Courses and has built more than 70 courses worldwide since 2001.
Finances
Experience shows that the pay back time on an investment in an Adventure Golf is, in most cases, 2-4 years. As shown in the references it is quite possible to have more than 40 000 players per season. Should there also be a restaurant or a kiosk in the area the possibility for an increase in both visitors as well as in revenue is very high with adventure golf on the premises. Another source of income which could be important when you are about to make this kind of investment but also for the annual profitability is sponsors. Adventure golf courses are usually very easy to get local companies as well as well known trade marks to invest in.
The different types of courses
There are four different varieties on the design of Adventure Golf based on the courses built over the past few years. The final choice depends on local conditions, adjustments to the area and of course, the customer’s ideas and thoughts about the layout. When it comes to profitability the choice has some importance as far as marketing is concerned. You need to consider what design would suite the area and attract the most visitors. The choice of design also depends on the level of investment.

One option is to find sponsors for the course and to let their products be shown in obstacles and de-corations. This gives the course a different and attractive design and creates additional increase in revenue for the course.
