- Your timely attendance at work is crucial in making the business run smoothly.

Hours of WorkNormal work day – 8 hrs.Normal work week – 40 hrs.Monday to Friday – 8:30am – 5:30pmSaturdays – 8:30am – 12:00pm

Meal PeriodOne hour unpaid break.Lunch break – 11:30am – 12:30pmAny other breaks must be approved in

advance by supervisor and shall not be paid.

Rest Period30 minute paid break.

OvertimeOvertime pay for work rendered beyond eight

(8) hours.Overtime Form (OT Form) is approved and

signed by supervising officer.

How to compute overtime?On ordinary days

Number of hours in excess of 8 hrs. (125% x hourly rate)

• On a rest day, special day or regular holiday

- Number of hours in excess of 8 hrs. (130% x hourly rate)

Compensation for rest day, Sunday, or Holiday work

If it is an employee’s rest day If unworked – 100% If worked – 1st 8 hrs + 30% of 200%

If it is a holiday If unworked – no pay unless there is a favourable company policy,

practice of collective bargaining agreement (CBA) granting payment of wages on special days even if unworked.

If worked – 1st 8 hrs + 30% of the 100% of the daily rate. Falling on the employee’s rest day and if worked – 1st 8 hrs + 50% of

the 100% of the daily rate.

TardinessBeing at your work station at least 1 minute past

your scheduled starting time.Must notify the appropriate person if you know

that you may be late for work.Arriving at work past 8:30am is considered late.

UndertimeEmployees are not allowed to offset
