Hunter Hunter is my 7 year old little sister who has a disease that will take her life. The reason I chose her is because she goes on living not knowing if the next day she will die. The disease Hunter has is Late Infantile Battens Disease. Battens disease is when you are missing an enzyme in your brain that gets rid of the fat and protein in the brain. I think of my sister as a hero because she is brave, loving and a determined little girl.

The cabin

I chose my little sister Hunter as my hero, because she is a really determined little girl. I remember when we went to our cabin in Star Valley, Wyoming . At the cabin there are two big tires in the front yard. Hunter was three or so and she was determined to climb the tire. She spent all day trying to climb it. When she finally got to the top she was the happiest child alive!

The DiagnosisAt the age of three Hunter was diagnosed with Late Infantile Battens Disease. It was the saddest day of our lives.

Hunters favorite Movies “Just keep swimming,Just keep swimming,Swimming , swimming.What do you do? You swim, swim, swim.” are the lirics to Hunter’s and my favorite song.

Scooby-Doo and Finding Nemo are the movies Hunter likes. Hunter’s favorite character is “Daphnie.”

Make a Wish Hunter made a wish to the “Make a Wish Foundation.” Her wish was to swim with a dolphin. Make a Wish sent her to Hawaii for 7 days . I got to go. The dolphins name was “ Liho.” Hunter was very happy that day.

In March of 2006, Hunter was very sick she had to be on

oxygen.

In March of 2006, Hunter got very sick and had to stay home from school. Her class made her a paper quilt. Each quilt square was something special about Hunter.

Hunter loves her tiger baby . When she is sick she likes it even more.

Sadee is Hunters little sister but takes on the big sister role.
