Government Polytechnic Institute for Women, Lahore was established in Shadi Lal Building in 1964. It’s a historic building. It was the official residence of Justice Shadi Lal in pre-partition era and nothing was more appropriate than to turn building into an educational institution to preserve it.

G.P.I.W, Lahore works under the umbrella of Technical education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) whose mission is “to enhance global competitiveness in Punjab, through a quality and productive work force by developing a demand driven, standardized dynamic and integrated technical education and vocational training system”

Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) felt that without technical education for girls and empowered skilled force the dream of and advanced and developed Pakistan can not be materialized.

Therefore, G.P.I.W, Lahore was established to materialize the TEVTA mission.

G.P.I.W, Lahore is offering quality education in various streams like • Commerce • Electronics• Dress Designing and Dress Making• Office Management• Fashion designing• Information Technology• Video Production

Academic year calendar• Our academic session starts from September to May.• We have two month summer Vacations starting from mid

June to mid August.• Student have to appear in three types of examination in

the whole academic year besides monthly tests. First is Mid-Term Examination, second Send-Ups and they are awarded next class certificate on the bases of Board Examination, normally held in May-June every year.
