Advantages of using textbook in classroom Improves FluencyPhysically holding a book and turning to the necessary

page helps the brain process the information and increases reading fluency.

Textbooks provide a medium that is more easily processed and understood by the brain.

Material is Organized LogicallyTextbooks are broken down into chronological chapters

that present information logically. helps students make connections between concepts and

identify necessary details.

Sources are CredibleSecondary sources such as blogs, articles and videos

may not have author credibility, but textbooks are written by professionals highly qualified in their fields.

• Progress can be measured Using textbooks is that they are essential for students

since their progress and achievement can be measured concretely when we use them.

Resources for TeachersTextbooks are divided in chapters, teachers find them

reliable by following them as they are in teaching.Support for less experienced teachers who have yet to

gain in confidence.

Use textbook sparingly or supplement with other materials.

Students assume that learning is simply a collection of facts and figures.

Ask higher-level questions and provide creative thinking and problem-solving activities.

Textbook doesn't take students' background knowledge into account.

Teacher does not tailor lessons to the specific attributes and interests of students.

Discover what students know about a topic prior to teaching. Design the lesson based on that knowledge.
