Company Overview:

Powermite was established on the West Rand in the late “60’s” with the express purpose of serving the South African Market with a range of specialized electrical equipment in the field of the Material Handling Industry with our focus on the mining sector as the primary larger market.

In 1974 Ampco our manufacturing company of Industrial Plugs and Sockets was established to complement the existing range of product lines that Powermite was supplying to the industry.

The Growth of Powermite and Ampco was nevertheless inevitable, as the Company grew from strength to strength with the further establishment and development in the “90’s” of Branches countrywide.

In 2004, the Powermite and Ampco Companies were acquired by the Hudaco Group and as such became a trading division of a highly respected and JSE listing company.

The on-going success and positivity injected through the Hudaco Groups Philosophies coupledwith that of Powermite’s Management team and staff resulted in the rapid and sustained growth over the past 6 years.

Our product range is nevertheless extensive and a few examples of our products stocked and supplied by ourselves are;-

We are presently operating branches with a substantial stock holding in Cape Town, Durban, Witbank, Secunda, Richards Bay, Rustenburg and the East Rand as a recent addition.

We take Energy everywhere – so do our Branches and Distributors.
